Just got back from NYC with a gross of bagels and 6 -- count 'em -- 6!! black & white cookies. Full size. Babka can be cooked at home? I thought you had to buy it a Katz's.
ELM: We should know one way or the other whether babka can be baked at home a bit later in the day...

A post about chocolate Babka, and the first comment is about black and white cookies.
What is this, a Seinfeld episode?

Kids are sweating bullets about their grades and you're baking Babka... sinful.
Now cut me a slice.

Never having had a babka, how does yours taste? It looks like it could be.. gooey in the middle.
ELM: It's supposed to be ever so slightly gooey in the middle; that's the chocolate/nut filling.

There are still a few Polish diners in the lower east side that serve grilled babka...which none of them seem to do here in Chicago...

My New Yorker wife must read this one. I always hear about the black and whites and the babkas. No one, of course, comes close to my mother's ruglach and NY is not half of Tel Aviv. So there!
