Who Would You Rather Have . . .
2. An extremely bright, deeply curious, politically inexperienced and emotionally open and energizing president -- with a political resume shorter than this description?
3. A conservative president who used to criticize (i) stupidity in the White House, (ii) tax cuts that are bankrupting America, (iii) deficits as far as the mind can dream, (iv) an energy policy that finances the terrorists we're trying to kill -- with a history of selling political favors to shady bankers, of spending several years as a POW, but who now just wants to be loved by the Southern Wing of the GOP?
or . . . someone else?

3. An inspiring President who cares deeply about justice, fairness, and taking care of the downtrodden. One who can admit mistakes and learn from them. One who tries to insprie by hope rather than fear.

Edwards. He has all of the positives you listed for 1-3, has nice hair and a good sense of humor, and ... did I mention that he has nice hair?

I forgot to list nice hair.

An extremely bright, deeply curious, calculating, politically cautious and emotionally circumscribed president....
Sorry, but that sounds like a female version of Kerry: someone who bores Democrats to tears, but has enough of a past to get Republicans all het up. If we have to pick a guaranteed loser, can't we at least pick a loser I can be passionate about?
An inspiring President who cares deeply....
Sounds great, but after these past six years, I'd be happy with vaguely competent, with some connection with reality. (Not totally corrupt would be nice, too, but I don't want to get too ambitious.)
More seriously (but still modestly) I'd really like someone with a genuine understanding of Middle East politics, enough respect for science to at least acknowledge global warming, and enough courage to occasionally stand up to Big Medicine and Big Media. And, of course, nice hair.

Since we are all into fantasy tonight:

I think he has great hair.

I'd rather have Al Gore.
