Fauxtoshopping the Heavens.
Yesterday I posted a link to a spectacular photo of Comet McNaught, not unlike this one from spaceweather.com:
And a commenter promptly suggested that it was photoshopped.
We live in a depressingly cynical age.

It's nice that Hillary is running, but when John Edwards entered the race, he freed up a parking space.
What can HRC do that will make half as big a difference to people's lives?

Since I was the original skeptic, let me say I was wrong. The BBC's been posting similar images and eventually explained (I've forgotten where and when) that the striated appearance of the tail is legit, albeit pretty uncommon.
