Murrow Borrow: Callow, Hollow.

A
trios calls this TV ad for a congressional candidate "awesome." Myself, I think it's an objectionable and very bad move, even though the actor playing Murrow lives in the relevant district. Putting words into the mouth of a dead journalist -- equating an opponent with Joe McCarthy -- reprising and deploying a movie character in the real world -- all of it just stinks.

(The movie, on the other hand, was superb.)

I disagree. I think the comparison apt. Joe McCarthy had nothing on John Sweeney. He is the one who said "shut it down" in Miami when the canvassing board was counting votes.
