Hitler Slept Here.
We just returned from an 8 day stay in Wurzburg,Germany. What a beautiful place! The Regina Hotel is located right across the street from the train station and one block from the main street. It was the perfect location for us since we used the rail system to travel to Neuschwanstein Castle, Amsterdam, and Koln. And anything we could have possibly needed was just down the street. All types of stores-from drugstores, clothing, bakeries, food eateries, even a Woolworth store. We walked the entire city of Wurzburg and what a wonderful experience to see the Residenz, Fortress, Rathhous and many other places that Hitler himself had walked upon.Oh, wow. I have goosesteps. Er, goosebumps, that is.

Wow. When I visited the Residenz and the Fortress in Wuerzburg, I was completely unaware they had any Hitler associations. I just knew the Fortress was cool (I was a kid at the time), and the Residenz was unbelievably huge, the former home of a bishop or archbishop or something, and heavily damaged in wartime bombing. I don't recall anybody drawing attention to Hitler connections, either.

As well you should, as the person writing the text, 'A TripAdvisor Member, Brandon, FL' seems to be American, and '4 out of 4 TripAdvisor users found this review to be helpful.'
I just spent some time in the U.S., the first time since 2000. It is frightening to see the changes when you have some experience of how other societies underwent changes leading to disaster.
But as everyone ensured me, security is more important than the chance of getting hurt by meeting strangers, travelling to other countries, or by questioning those who are just doing their jobs taking away peoples' property because of security concerns.
Always nice to see Americans (my assumption from the text) growing more attached to Old Europe.
Luckily, I don't live in Old Europe.

In a slightly different vein, should you ever visit St. Petersburg (Russia), stop into the stunning Astoria Hotel. Prominently displayed in a large frame in the hotel lobby is a beautiful, formal invitation, signed by Hitler himself, to the members of the Reichstag to attend a ball celebrating the fall of Leningrad. The party, of course, never happened, but making a trophy of the invitation fits perfectly with the dark Russian sense of humor. While you're there, you should walk the entire city, see the Hermitage, the cruiser Aurora and many other places where Hitler, despite his best efforts, never walked.
