Groucho Marx Would Surely Have Something To Say About This.

R
eading between the lines of this post over at Balkinization, I think I sense that Mark Graber doesn't think much of the Law and Society Association, legal education, or the direction of higher education in general.

Graber's post's satire is so scattershot it isn't really worth much attention. Honestly, are Law & Society types materially more ignorant of the actual practice of law than the vast majority of other faculty? And is familiarity with semiotics, Foucalt, and post-modern literary criticism (or even latter day Terry Eagleton's post-post-modern literary criticism) evidence of intellectual bankruptcy? What's more frightening by far to me are the academics like Lawrence Yoo who have had a real, radical, and horrific effect on practice.
