Hmmmm.... easy to take umbrage when the mirror is reflected back on your culture is it not? How dare we turn dark humor on ourselves?
I'm not sure what it is in Jewish culture. But they are equally damning of other cultures as their own.
Please let me know the next time you take offense at such humor toward, say Christian culture.
I am often amazed at how Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, the Court Jestors in control routinely slap down Christians as all Right Wing xenophobics, yet turn a blind eye to Lubavitcher's and orthodox Jews.
What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.
Of course, people like Jon 'i am no monkey boy' Stewart, seem to glory that all other than his ilk are monkeys.
Blind leading the blind.

Michael, the minute the Lubavitchers take over one of the major political parties, we'll hear about it from the Jewish comedians.
In the meantime, the only Orthodox Jew who has used his religion as a political instrument is Joe Lieberman. It seems to me that he catches his share of flack.
