Why should internal law school politics be immune from comment? Transparency is generally supposed to be a GOOD thing. Keeping things quiet usually is just a way for people with some degree of power to insulate themselves from accountability.
I'd suggest that those who are being criticized address the criticism on the merits. If Livingston is wrong, or has his own personal ax to grind, someone should point it out. To quote that old chestnut, the remedy for bad speech is more speech.
