My cell phone reception doesn't exist!

It stinks, particularly along Franklin from that biscuitville thingy all the way up through to the edge of the frat houses.

I use Alltel, and for the most part reception is good to acceptable in Chapel Hill. The only major exception is an important one: I get little or no signal at the Harris-Teeter at University Mall, which is a real drag if I have to call home for clarification of a hastily written list, etc.

Verizon - no complaints. Just one dead spot I regularly encounter on back roads between carrboro & durham.

Sprint. Reception, for the most part, is solid -- a few dead spots here and there driving around town, but I don't think I've ever lost reception except for when I've been in the bowels of a campus building.

My Verizon reception is surprisingly bad. I live only three miles from the great I-40, which spans across the entire nation (and less than that from 15-501, the not-so-great highway that spans across Durham and Orange counties), and yet I can't get reception at my house. And I also can't get reception at my parents' house in Chapel Hill, just over the Chatham County Line. And I can't get reception on the roads in between. And I often can't get reception in downtown Durham, so one wonders why I have a phone at all.

I'm on Pinehurst, with Suncom (bought from ATT). I would rate reception as pretty mediocre. Some dropouts as I walk around the house. A neighbor has mentioned this before in his column in the local paper.
