Novak Column on Sam Alito Out; No Mention of Support from Former U.S. Attorneys

I
t looks as though the effort to insert a list of former U.S. Attorneys who support Sam Alito's Supreme Court nomination into Bob Novak's column failed.

Isn't this a big deal? If USA support isn't in Novak's column because he could only collect weak support or none at all, that seems like a story to me, faint praise being what it is. Have you seen this picked up elsewhere? "Novak Unable to Muster U.S. Attorney Support for Alito."

Hey, nice job killing the astroturf.

Maybe next time a law professors' letter against Bush spontaneously appears, you can repeat the reverse magic trick...

I love how Novak tries to imply that Alito's opponents are racist by claiming that their attacks, although in no way racist, "might seem more credible" because he's the son of an Italian immigrant.

Al, nice elephant repellant reference.

he's the son of an Italian immigrant
Um, hasn't that been debunked? Despite the spin, Alito's father was born in New Jersey.

Whoops, appears I got it wrong in my previous comment. Father's immigration status here
