"Unhinged" Upended

It's a good link, and his links are also very good; I enjoyed reading them. Still, I do get frustrated at liberals' willingness (including mine) to engage in the Right's arguments about who fights fairer -- I'm not sure anyone wins that battle.

Neiwert always makes me want to give up blogging.
In a good way.

Who fights fairer? While the left is not perfect, when was the last time you heard stories about...
Massive vote rigging or election suppression by the left in a Presidential election?
Disgusting personal attack flyers distributed by the left?
People on the left calling people unpatriotic for dissenting?
People who give to candidates on the left running large companies that develop voting systems?
Leftists trying to re-work Congressional districts mid-cycle?
Rightwing protesters being restricted to limited "free speech zones"?
After five years of Bush and 11 of GOP control of Congress, I don't see how the "fair" fight is even an argument. Look at how Congress has operated (rules) the past few years. Look at the stifling of the mainstream media by strong-arm tactics. Look at astroturf campaigns. Even our local city council is about to be taken over by right-wingers who pushed for a city wide vote on an issue, then, when the result didn't go their way, tried to pass the issue in council anyway. SOP. No respect for people, people's rights, freedom for others, or fairplay. I used to think it was just a few bad apples at the national level, but the means have spread up and down the GOP. It's so sad. I hope they wake up and grow a conscious some day.

Dems in Philadelphia, St. Louis Mo. Okay, fine, it's not massive. Just tens of thousands of votes in two fairly narrowly decided swing states. These are currently under investigation, and I believe the St. Louis case has resulted in convictions already. No telling if they've caught the dogs and dead people who were voting democratic.
Disgusting personal attack flyers distributed by the left?
I think calling black Republicans "Sambo", calling them race traitors and throwing oreo cookies at them during public appearances is more the in-favor style. And Ann Coulter and David Horowitz regularly get pelted with pies or produce. But that's not necessarily disgusting, just vile. I suppose calling people race traitors and throwing things at them isn't a disgusting tactic, in your book?
People on the left calling people unpatriotic for dissenting?
Again, that's irrelevant, calling people "Hitler" and "fascist" is more the left's style. Patriotism isn't really a big thing for the postnational left, so "unpatriotic" isn't exactly an insult.
People who give to candidates on the left running large companies that develop voting systems?
No, I guess George Soros doesn't run voting systems companies, so he doesn't count in spite of spending $20 billion to do whatever it takes to unseat Bush. And come to think of it, pretty much all of Hollywood and 3/4ths of the broadcast networks form the financial and media backbone of PFAW and its network of affiliated organizations, coordinating the lobbying wing of left liberalism.
Leftists trying to re-work Congressional districts mid-cycle?
I guess it doesn't count when you do it by lawsuit, rather than by a democratic vote in the state legislature, huh?
Rightwing protesters being restricted to limited "free speech zones"?
That practice was started by the Secret Service during the Clinton Administration. I don't think Clinton had anything to do with initiating the policy, USSS just did it.
Yep, saintly left liberals would never do any of the bad things that the awful eeeee-vil conservative republicans do. Tell me, does your halo make it tough to shampoo your hair or wear a baseball cap?
It must be pretty tough to live in your world K. What with everything being black and white, I wonder how you deal with stoplights, interior decorating, and your kid's coloring book.
