"Like Most Bloggers?"
This is Michelle Malkin, in August of 2004, explaining why she's only occasionally going to allow comments on her blog:
Like most bloggers, I don't have interns or assistants to help out with the blog. This is Betsy Newmark, in August of 2005, subbing for Michelle Malkin on Malkin's blog:
We've had to turn the trackbacks feature off while Michelle is away. There was some nasty porno spam in the trackbacks and some other problems. I believe that Michelle's kind assistants are working on the problem and hope to turn it back on when she returns. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. So ... there are assistants.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!

Although that will be seen by the reality-based community as a blatant contradiction, Betsy is likely referring to the Malkin webmaster(s). I guess the hired help doesn't really count as "an assistant".

"Rationalizations are better than sex. When have you ever gotten through a day without at least one juicy rationalization?" - Michael on the Big Chill [paraphrasing from memory]
August 03, 2004 11:42 PM (the stamp on Malkin's post) is when she was temporarily without help because they walked out in disgust. So, see, she told the truth and the seeming inconsistency had a perfectly innocuous explanation.
Obviously, I just made that up. Malkin's just another professional right-wing extremist liar and a lie like that one is so small on her scale that it rates as pure honesty.

Now this is solid evidence.

C'mon, dude; this is beneath you. I know you don't agree with her about the internment stuff -- and hey, neither do I. But who cares if she has an assistant? Really, it doesn't matter.

Ok, I'm uncomfortable defending Malkin so don't make me do it again.
Isn't it possible that she did not have assistants in August 2004 but that she did by August 2005?
What happened to the doctrine of charitable interpretation? Does it shift when it's convenient?
We can fault Malkin on many more substantial points. Spending time on this sophistry just makes us look like petty.

"Spending time on this sophistry just makes us look like petty."
Perhaps, but it is amusing nonetheless.
