ometimes believing in a kind and loving God is just very, very difficult:

What happened to the deer, is what I want to know. Probably at a local deer hangout, drinking Saranac through a straw, retelling a story no self-respecting cervine would believe if not for the limp and the tread-shaped scars.

It just takes practice, like believing other unlikely things:

Of course that incident is nothing compared to New Orleans under water or 1,000 pilgrims dead on and Iraqi bridge. Kind and loving God.
