Have there been any more reports since this morning's article in the Herald-Sun?

The only thing I can think of is that it had something to do with High School graduation.

Hillside, Riverside, and the School of the Arts had their ceremonies yesterday; Northern, Southern, and Jordan are graduating today.

If this was just a bunch of high school kids, it's either a lot less disturbing, or a lot more.

p.s.

Whilst getting dinner at Elmo's last night, I overheard several School of the Arts pupils refer to their alma mater as the SoA.

Ya, I work in Durham. The mood this morning was not good.

Someone at work commented, "Ah, it's probably just kids..."

THAT'S EVEN WORSE!!

I appreciate that Police Chief, Steve Chalmers has stated that they are taking this as a serious threat to the community. And I hear there are protest rallies planned for this evening.

According to this morning's Herald Sun, the FBI has been called in:

I played "quid pro quo" with local media over this vs. the Jim S murders...

There take was that the cross burnings were definitely an emergence of a newer, younger klan force.

Hurtful.

I live in the heart of the South -- Atlanta. Nary a word about it on the news.

Is this progress?

Not for some of the clients my brother and I represent in Section 1981 race-discrimination claims. They attest to the fact that racism continues.

Of course, the "risk management consultant" for a Fortune 100 Company in the seat next to me on a recent flight to Atlanta said, "those people just want a free ride."

Right . . . racism is dead.

Why does anyone pay any attention to this story? Why did it even make local headlines, not to mention national (CNN) headlines?

They will give sensational airtime to the dumbest fools in our society, but anyone with useful (but highly unpopular) ideas gets shouted down and locked out of participating in government at all levels.

Okay Remnant... I'll bite - what useful (but highly unpopular ideas) do you have to share? And why exactly is it that this story doesn't deserve coverage?
