Those Zany, Zany Afghan Tourists!

was reading this amusing story about the roundtrip flights for $1.86 that bankrupt U.S. Airways recently offered, when I happened to see this tag line at the end of the piece:
"For more on Afghan tourists, talking Jesus dolls and other offbeat stories, click here."
What exactly is so "offbeat" about "Afghan tourists"? Are they really as "offbeat" as "talking Jesus dolls?"
